March 2013 Surfista Trip to Baler Highlights

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the Surfistas during our trip to BALER, Aurora last March 22 – 24, 2013. It was a rainy weekend but we still managed to have fun with an awesome group of people AND we were blessed with beautiful peeling waves and sunshine on our last day. Awesomeness. It was amazing to meet you all! Until the next Surfista trip!

We soaked up a little bit of culture by going to the Baler Museum for the rainy weekend.

We were so thankful that the sun came out on our last day. It was the BEST surf session for Surfista to date! It pays to wake up at 6 AM!

Remember when Elaine Abonal of Surfista Travels Philippines worked with French Canadian surf TV crew OUISURF.CA last October 2012 as a surf guide to help them out for their show? Well, it finally came out TODAY in Quebec, Canada and we were so amazed by the outcome. We didn’t get to watch the show here in the Philippines, but luckily, OuiSurf has some “extraits” or video snippets from the show of our experience together. Enjoy these videos whether you speak French or not. It was an amazing adventure and we hope to see them again!

Private Surfista Tour: Graham Family from the Marshall Islands

Surfista Travels also provides private tours and packages that are currently handled by our Surfista Elaine Abonal. Last February 17 – 19, 2013, we were with the Graham family from the Marshall Islands and went to La Union. It was great to be with a surfing family who are also from a tropical country. We exchanged a lot of stories and Ronnie, who is 6 years old, had his first lessons in La Union, Philippines and did very well! The waves and weather were perfect for him. Check out the photo highlights to get a sneak peek of our time with the Grahams.

Travel is also about culture. The Grahams say that Halo-Halo is so good they had to name it twice!

We went to the RiverFarm Restaurant for fresh sea food and for Ronnie to check out the fish!

Ronnie got to feed the fish at the River Farm Restaurant.

We played mini-golf at Camp John Hay in Baguio before we went back to Manila

Elaine Abonal and Luke Landrigan guest on Magic 89.9’s Boys Night Out Radio Show!

Last February 13, 2013, Surfista Travels Philippines’ Elaine Abonal and Surfista friend and Billabong San Juan Surf School Head Coach Luke Landrigan were guests on one of Manila’s favorite DJ’s and radio shows: Boys Night Out with Tony Bueno, Eric Virata and Sam Gogna. They talked about surfing, the upcoming Billabong All Girls surf camp and predictions of LOVE LIVES & CAREERS! Haha! It was a lot of fun and we were very honored to have been able to be part of the show!

Last February 12, 2013, Elaine Abonal of Surfista Travels Philippines guested on 99.5 Play FM’s afternoon show called P.I.M.P. (Philippine Islands Music and People) to talk about surfing in the Philippines, surf lessons, what surfing is all about, how she started surfing, why it’s awesome being a surfer girl in the Philippines, the importance of following surf etiquette and of course, Surfista Travels Philippines!
